History
During World War II, Panama City became a crucial port that played a role in building and dismantling battleships. Not soon after, Clark Gable began establishing restaurants, Charter boat companies, and local shops boosted revenue for the area and sent the population soaring in the 1950s. With the newfound fame, Panama City beach turned into the go-to destination for holidays, concerts, special events, golf, museums, amusement parks, water parks, and marine parks.
